Welcome to The Society of

Northumbrian Craftsmen

 

The Society currently has 25 members, representing a wide variety of crafts including pottery, china painting, jewellery, greetings cards, photography, boxes, bookbinding,soaps, pens and teddy bears.
Our main aim is to promote a high standard of design and craftsmanship amongst our members. To make sure the standard of work remains high, a craftsperson wishing to join the Society has to have their work examined by our Committee, and will be accepted if their work reaches the required standard.

We hold several craft fairs each year in north-east England to promote the Society and its aims, and to sell members’ work.

The Society also aims to encourage the exchange of ideas amongst craftsmen and the public and to support the educational and recreational needs of craftwork.
